During the Wildfires of 1998, firefighters came from across the country to save local lives and property. In Ormond Beach, this sports pub was converted onto a support station where firefighters could grab a meal and rest. Local citizens donated everything from food and water to socks and toothbrushes to support these brave men.

Fast Fact: In the summer of 1998 a long drought and record temperatures combigned to threaten most of central florida with dangerous wildfires. Tens of thousands of people were forced to evacuate, and over 100 miles of interstate were closed. Before it was over, more than 300 homes were lost and 500,000 acres were burned.
