North Turn
Ponce Inlet, FL

This is the site of the north turn of the famous Ponce Inlet Beach Road Course. First opened around 1903, this course was NASCAR's first sanctioned track. It was used by NASCAR between 1948 and 1958. Motorcycle racing continued untill 1960.

Fast Fact: Also known as the Daytona Beach Road Course, this 4.1 mile racetrack ran south on A1A to the south turn where racers turned back to race north on the hard packed sand and back to A1A at the North Turn. The course is shown in green below.
