Fast Fact: Daytona Beach was founded as a community in 1871 by Mathias Day, for whom the city is named. Today, Daytona Beach is the home of NASCAR, the LPGA and the center of many anual events such as the Daytona 500, Rolex 24 hours of Daytona, Bike Week and the Daytona Turkey Run.
